Scientific Name: Vulpes lapogus

Adaptations:• Has a thick white coat that will protect them from the cold and also camouflages them in the snow.• It's return blood flow and flow blood flow are interwoven so their temperature won't drop too low. • They also have a fluffy tail that aids balance and is used like a blanket to conserve warmth.• They have thick fur on their paws that help them to walk on ice.• Their fur will change colour depending on the season, white, sometimes bluish in winter to camouflage with the snow, and grey or brown in summer to camouflage with the rocks.

DietI am an omnivore and will eat berries, seaweed and small animals such as seal pups... and bird eggs. I will also eat leftovers from polar bear kills.

They will form pairs in September- May and will give birth after 52 days to an average of 5-8 pups.

Habitat:I live in the arctic tundra, around the top of Canada, Greenland and Russia. Here temperatures can reach up to -50 degrees Celsius. Some of my predators are the polar bear, wolves and other large birds of prey such as the snowy owl. Winters are long and cold while summers are short and cool. I usually live in a den dug into the side of a hill, cliff or river bank. In winter I may tunnel into a snowbank, my den usually has more than one entrance.

My average size is 85.3cm. My tail can grow up to 35cm, I live in the wild for an average of 3 years. I am short and rounded and I have thick fur that protects me from the cold.
