The beautiful spiral designs and artwork on the huge stones arexceptional, and it is obvious that these Stone Age artists were highly skilled. Did these people build Newgrqange to show off their artwork.?

These gold objects were built in Newgrange. Some people think the tombs were built to proclaim how rich and wealthy they were.

Some poeple think that the spirals and zigzags on one of the stones represents a face, possibly a god. Was Newgrange built to honour the gods?

When readinf myths you learnt that the Tuatha Dé Danann who ruled Ireland, were said to have built Newgrange as a burial place for their chief, Dagda Mór. Do you think this is true?

Why do you think Newgrange was built?

A number of pendants and beads were found in the passagage. Some people think Newgrqange was where very important people, like kings and queens were buried, and their valuables were buried with them.
