April Newsletter

It is hard to believe we have rounded our last term this year. Things will really begin to speed up around here as we prepare for graduation, and finish up registration requests. Seniors need to make sure they have all credit recovery done by April 29th in order to be on the graduation list. Students who have not completed their credit, taken the Civics Exam or made up their NG's will not be placed on the graduation list until those items are cleared. Seniors need to be applying now for the local/foundation scholarships that are due April 14/15th. There are several local scholarships that are due early on in April as well, so click here for all April Scholarships. There are many different opportunities, and I feel there is something for many seniors to apply for. We are excited to announce that students can now register to attend an information workshop regarding the Regents’ Scholarship held at our office in downtown Salt Lake. In addition students who are already familiar with the basic requirements of the scholarship can choose to meet with a scholarship representative to map out a four year course plan for the scholarship and discuss individual questions. To register for these events students can go to www.regentsschoalrship.org. Space is limited! If a student cannot attend one of these events they are encouraged to contact us directly and we can answer their questions individually by phone or email. If students haven't handed in their registration forms, they will need to do so now. Otherwise, their schedules will be made for them. We want to be as accurate as we can on our course requests so we can provide enough sections for each class and balance the master schedule. MATC (Mountainlands Applied Technology) registration will take place on April 27th. Make sure your student takes the preliminary test before registering. You can find out more information on the registration and application process at MATC.Utah Boys State is June 13th-June17th at Weber State University. This program is for junior boys. The application deadline is April 15th, and will need to be handed into the Counseling Center. Visit the following website for the application and more information. Students who attend Boys State will receive 3 hours college credit in Political Science.
