Anti-Semitism in Europe did not begin with Adolf Hitler. The holocause ( is the most extreme example of anti-Semitism in world history. The Nazis, who came to power in Germany in January 1933, believed that Germans were “racially superior” and that the Jews, deemed “inferior,” were an alien threat to the so-called German racial community.

Yellow Badge

Jews were an alien threat to German racial purity and the commuity. Jews, or anyone who had some Jewish decent, had to wear a yellow badge, which was a cloth patch, that they were ordered to sew on their outer garments to mark them as Jews in public at certain times in certain countries.

Anti-Semitism

Introduction

Anti-Semitism Video

Anti-Semitism is discrimination against Jews. For many years people have not treated members of the Jewish community as equals. In many cases there have been verbal and physical attacks, also called pogroms, on the Jewish Community, especially during World War II.

Anti Semitism affected the war in a large way. It helped the Axis power unfavorably, especially Germany. Germany`s ability to fight (soldiers, especially from the SS, or the elite gaurd of Adolf Hitler) were diverted away from the front line combat to run the concentration camps, and they used many resources they had for creating new methods of mass extermination. It helped the Allied side greatly because it meant that there were less people that they had to kill and less people for the Axis power to form an invasion.
