So what exactly causes Anorexia?Well there is no exact cause however it can be genetic and is often influenced by a distorted body image, caused by the media or society.

To put how much of a problem Anorexia is into perspective, here are some stastics:-Anorexia is the third most common long-term illness among teenagers.-Males make up about 10 to 15 percent of those who suffer from anorexia.-Teens and young adults between the ages of 12 and 26 make up 95 percent of those who have eating disorders.-Anorexia is the most common cause of death (up to 12 times higher than any other condition) among young women ages 15 to 24.(all from www.futuresofpalmbeach.com)

What YOU can do to help/prevent Anorexia-STOP judging others baised on their weight, wether it's behind their back, or to their face, this makes everyone around you insicure.-"If you think someone has an eating disorder, express your concerns in a caring manner. Gently but firmly encourage the person to seek trained professional help."-"Avoid conveying an attitude that says, “I will like you better if you lose weight, don’t eat so much, or change your body shape.”"-Tell a parent and seek help-Educate yourself on Anorexia, the more you know the more you can help.

Where is Anorexia most commonly found?The anwser? Almost everywhere. Anorexia can be found in almost every community across the world. It is a mental disorder and is most common in core countries that have a lot of media influence.
