Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia Nervosa is an eating disorder charachterized by an abnormally low body weight, intense fear of gaining weight and a distorted perception of body weight.

What is it?

For some teens, anorexia is triggered by a tramatic event, such as abuse. While being a teen, sometimes you feel like you have control over nothing. Teens may feel uncomfotable in their bodies and feel the need to control their weight even if its in an unhealthy way.

-Anorexia is the third most common long-term illness in teens.-Males make up 10 to 15 percent of those who suffer from anorexia.-Teens and younge adults between the ages 12 and 26 make up 95% of those who have an eating disorder.-Anorexia is the most common causeof death among younge women ages 15-24.

Being anorexic cause the body to become unhealthy and very underweight. Anorexia causes fatigue, insomia, dizziness or fainting, absence of menstruation, constipation, dry yellowish skin, low blood pressure, ect.

There is not really a specific way to prevent anorexia. Forming a healthy lifestyle may help by putting people in a positive attitude about themselvs. Exercising is another way to keep your body ingood shapeso you won't feel poorly about yourself.
