Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

The only known footage of Anne Frank. This was captured when a nearby couple had a wedding. Anne was watching from the window.

Being a diary, the author of this book is Anne Frank herself. Since she died at 15, this was the only book she published. There is a museum dedicated to her, and it has a website as well.

Look for the positive side of even the worst situations.

The Diary of a Young GirlBy: Anne Frank

I would recommend this book to anyone who is curious about Anne Frank or the Holocaust in general if they are fine with the somewhat depressing undertone. Also, if you don't particularly like reading, it may get a bit dull.

Anne Frank was a real girl who grew up in Germany and the Netherlands. Her family moved to Amsterdam when she was very young to escape the hate towards the Jews (of which her family was) in Germany. When Hitler rose to power and conquered the Netherlands, they went into hiding so that they might escape being sent to the death camps in Nazi-controlled Germany. Her family, another family, and a local doctor all lived in hiding in a "Secret Annexe" behind a bookcase in their friend's business building. They stayed there for 2 years, until the Nazi's recieved an anonymous tip and found them. All of them but Anne's dad, Otto Frank, were killed at the death camps, along with 6 million other Jews.
