Anna Karenina

Leo Tolstoy was born in 1828 and raised Yasnaya Polyana, Russian Empire. He called Anna Karenina his first novel because War and Peace, which to Tolstoy really was an epic prose, so it did not qualify. He continued to write fiction throughout the 1880s and 1890s. One of his most successful later works was The Death of Ivan Ilyich. Tolstoy died on November 20, 1910 in Astapovo, Russia.

Leo Tolstoy beautifully creates a story of love, betrayl and lust. Even though Tolstoy tended to go off on tangents, which made the story difficult to read, he always kept the scandal alive. Overall Anna Karenina was and amazing book filled with passion from the characters and the writer Leo Tolstoy.
