Andy WarholAndy was born on August 6, 1928. Andy was the son of Julia and Ondrej Warhola. He had two brothers, John and Paul. At a young age Andy showed a great fascination, passion and talent for drawing. When Andy was 6, he got extremely sick and spent most of his time in bed. While he was sick he was entertained by his mum and brothers. They showed him how to draw, trace and print images. He showed a love for drawing throughout his childhood. Andy went to Holmes Elementary School and Schenley High School and graduated at the age of 16. Andy was accepted into Carnegie Institute of Technology. He was close to failing his first year of college, but a professor allowed him to enroll in a summer class. Throughout that period Andy helped his oldest brother sell fruit and vegetables from a truck. Every opportunity Andy had he would do quick on the spot sketches of the customers. These sketches won him a scholarship. Andy recieved and did illustration work for Glamour, Vogue and Harpers Bizaar. In the 1950's he was illustrating for fashion ads, books, record albums and many more. He worked to create original ideas for ads for I.Miller, a popular shoe company. In the 1960's Andy started to create Pop Art and that's when his artwork started to become famous. Andy had his first one-man exhibition at the Hugo Gallery in New York. Andy was apart of an important group exhibition at New Yorks renowned Museum of Modern Art. Andy died on February 22, 1987.

Andy was a very famous artist, who created Pop Art.
