Biography

Andrew Carnegie was born november 25th 1835 in dunfermile,scotland. And he died august 11th 1919 at th age of 83.He had 1 child by the name of margaret Carnegie Miller with his wife that goes by the name of Louise Whitfield. Andrews father william Carnegie decided to move with his family to alleghry pannsylvania in the united states in 1848 to find a better life. He got his first job at the age of 13 as a bobin boy. He only made $1.20 a week as his starting wage.But in 1850, Carnegie became a telegraph messenger boy, at $2.50 a week. All of that changed because in 1853 he was employed by thomas Scott as a secretary/Telegraph operator making $4.00 a week. Making that much money was unheard of at the time.

Beacame the richest man in the world, when he was alive. He gave away $350 Million by the time he died.He funded and constructed 7000 church organs.He founded and owned Carnegie Hall in New York City
