ANCIENT MESOPOTAMIA
The scribes were people who could read and write. They were also probably royal subjects of the Kings.
Mesopotamia means "Land between two rivers", because most of the land is between the rivers Euphrates and Tigris.
The Mesopotamians were also polytheistic. That meant that they believed in many gods and goddesses.
Mesopotamians were the first recorded people of history because of their written records called cuneiform
