Ancient Egypt
When someone dies the Egyptians Mummify them. It takes a lot of steps to do it. First they remove all the organs exept the heart because they thought that your heart is weighted to see if you can enter the after life. The organs were placed in special jars. Then the Priests washed the body with wine ans said prayers. Then they rubbed the body with spices and oils. They soon convered the body with a salt called natron. Natron worked like the dessert sand, only better. It helped the body from decaying. Finally they layedfthe body on a slanted table. They said prayers and let it dry for about forty days. When it is all dry, then they wrapped it in strips of linen. The linen was soaked in resins. As it dried, the lined stripes became hard. Then they placed it in a coffen.
The first kind of coffens the egyptians had were rectangular boxes. Then they made coffens looking more like the mummy inside.
Egypt is located in the north eastern reigon of Africa. Egyptians were one of the first groups to begin farming. They also had rich soil to grow crops. The Nile River is the largest river in Africa.
What are they doing to me?
The Old Kingdom lasted through 270-2200BC. It was also the richest time of egyptian history and it had six gods. There were also kings that were treated as gods. I was around in the 8th dynasty.
