Tutankhamun is the most famous Egyptian pharoah today. This is because his tomb was only discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter, an archaeologist. Tutankhamun was born around 1346 BC in Egypt. When he was only 9 years old, he became a pharoah. Tutankhamun was buried deep in the Valley of the Kings when he died. His tomb was filled with gold and jewels that the Egyptians believed he would need in his afterlife. Howard Carter did not find his tomb until 3000 years after his death.

The pyramids in Egypt hold the stone tombs of Egypt's pharoahs. They are filled with many hidden secrets about life in Ancient Egypt. The Egyptians believed that if they could mummify a body and bury it in a tomb, the pharoah would live on forever. The tombs protected the body and the pharoahs's belongings. The Great Pyramid is the most famous and largest pyramid. It was built for a pharoah called Khuf. Pyramids are guarded by a Sphinx.
