IMPORTANT PEOPLE OF ANCIENT EGYPT: -Menes (3000-2938 B.C.E.) -Snefru (2613-2586 B.C.E.) -Sesostris III (1870-1831 B.C.E.) -Hatshepsut (1473-1458 B.C.E.)

HATSHEPSUT: Between 1437-1458 B.C.E, Hatshepsut became the most powerful women leader of Ancient Egypt. She had man like features and wore a strap-on beard to be seen as more powerful. She dissappeared in 1458 B.C.E and her body has still not been recovered to this day.

ANCIENT EGYPT

ROLE OF THE PHAROAH: The Pharoah owned all of the land (upper and lower Egypt), made laws, collected taxes, and defended Egypt against foreigners. Pharoah's were also in charge of building temples honoring the gods.

This tomb painting illustrates a man and a women reuniting in after-life representing the affection egyptians had for eachother no matter the gender.

MIDDLE KINGDOM

OLD KINGDOM

The New Kingdom ended in chaos. It seems that the New Kingdom gradually got worse and worse due to bad harvests and bad government, Ending the New Kingdom.

The Middle Kingdom was invaded and conquered by the Hyksos which ended the Middle Kingdom.

During the period of the Old Kingdom, a mass drought hit Egypt destroying the social structure and economy. Egyptions began to follow the sun gods instead of the pharoah, Snefru, ending the Old Kingdom..
