Ancient Civilizations

Around 5,000 years ago, the people of Skara Brae roamed free in Sweden of what they called “home”. They made houses in the hillside next to the shore, digging tunnels of what would be there houses. The people of Skara Brae were very neat. They had different rooms in each house, serving a different purpose. For example there was a fireplace in the center of all of the houses.

The early people of Çatalhöyük had complicated religious beliefs. They would berry their dead, make figures of their gods, and would have cattle skulls in there homes to please the cattle gods for there blessing. In the past, the Çatalhöyük citizens would berry their deceased under their house for respect. If it were a child who passed away, beads and other goods would be berried with the dead child. The Çatalhöyük people would make figures to apses their gods. They would treat the gods as if they were the crater of everything and would think them for there giving’s. Also, they put bull skulls in the homes to thank their gods for the bull itself for its food, and the cloth it brings.

The people of Çatalhöyük were also very artistic. They would make jewelry, and wall paintings; they even made big houses with several rooms with different purposes. In Çatalhöyük, there would be huge nice descriptive wall paintings, covering up whole areas using the natural dyes that the people would find in nature. Also, the people of Çatalhöyük made jewelry such as beads and necklaces. They would sell them and use them ether for every day purposes or for special occasion like when someone died. There are big houses with lots of rooms in Çatalhöyük. Each room would have a purpose such as a kitchen or a storage.

Beads and necklaces were made in Skara Brae out of bones, shells, and other natural recourses that they could use. Also, the people of Skara Brae had different jobs. For example some people would be farmer, or fishermen, or gatherers. All in all, the Skara Brae people were civilized.
