How are these animals protected?The international conservation organization WWF, the Russian Academy of Science, and the Wildlife Conservation Society are controlling the population number and its habitat too.There are some Amur Leopards captive but many of them are considered highly inbred.
HabitatTemperate, Broadleaf, and Mixed Forests.These leopards can adapt to any habitat that provide food and cover.
About 7-12 in China and 20-25 in Russia
Numbers are still declining total extinction would affect the balance in their habitat.

The Amur leopard is important ecologically, economically and culturally. Conservation of its habitat benefits other species, including Amur tigers and prey species like deer. With the right conservation efforts,theould be a long-term conservation of the region.
Amur Leopard long legs and long fur allows these leopards to live where most of the year snows. These animals live 10-15 years. Their weight is approximately 70 -105 pounds. Food preference are Roe deer, Silka deer, Musk deer, wild boar, hares, and badgers.
