1200 BC - 400 BC Were the first `major´ civilization in Mexico.They lived in the Tropical lowlands of south-central Mexico. Now states of Veracruz and Tabasco.The Artwork: "Colosal heads", there are seventeen monumental human heads sculpted from large basalt boulders.They built permanent city-temple. Like, San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán, La Venta,etc.The Olmec Collapse was probably the result of very serious environmental changes.Their religion was Polyheistic.

250 BC - 800 ACLocated in the Valley of Mexico.It was the sixth largest city in the world during it´s epoch, with a population of 125,000 or more.The Avenue of the Death: They built temples and pyramids such as: The pyramid of the Sun, and the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Pyramids of the Feathered Serpent.They practiced human and animal Sacrifices.They were Polytheistics.

800 AD - 1100 ADTheir location was now a days Tlaxcala, Hidalgo,, Mexico, Morelos and Puebla.They were polytheistics.They worked with stones, they sculptured it and made an amazing art, such as the Chacmool.One of their important cities was Tula.

The exact origins of the Aztec people are uncertain,but they are believed to have begun as a northern tribe of hunter-gatherersWere located in the North of Mexico.They believed in many gods, so they were polytheistics.One of their arquitectures was the Pyramid of Tenochtitlan.Some of their important cities were Mazatla, Tochtlan, Toluca, etc.

AD 300 - 900Were located in Mexican States of Chiapas, Tabasco and Yucatan.Peninsula: Quintana Roo , Campeche and Yucatan.Also in the Central America Region: Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and El Salvador.Built splendid temples and developed a complicated calendar.2 Types, Solar calendar of 365 days and the Sacred calendar of 260 days.They developed an agricultural city.centered, such as, Caracol, Tikal, Chichen Itza, etc.Practiced human sacrificies, like the Olmecs.The Spanish burned their writings, so mayan hieroglyphics remained a mistery for centuries.
