Theme
The book American Born Chinese is a little confusing because there are three seperate stories in one book. The three stories all have different characters too. One story is about a Monkey King, the other is about Jin Wang, who later turns into a american boy named Danny. The in the last story it is about Chin-Kee, who is Jin's cousin.
The Monkey King story takes place in Flower Fruit Forest. It takes place in Mythology times.Jin's story takes place in China. He is a Junior High School student. It does tell what time it takes place in. Chin-Kee's story also takes place in China. He is also a Junior High School Student. It doesn't tell what time it is in.
I would give the book American Born Chinese 3 stars. I would give it 3 stars because it was very confusing. It was hard to follow along all the seperate stories. It was also not a very good overall.
Recommendation
Setting
The Monkey King is a angry, king monky. He wants to be a god, adn not just the King of the other monkeys. He is always being angry, stressed, mad, and hurting people. He wants to be the best, and while he is trying to become the best, he is also becoming a jerk. When the Monkey King walked into the god and goddess party, tyhe gaurd said, "wow stop right there little hairy dude, this is a party for gods and goddesses only". This shows that tyhe Monkey King is little and hairy. The gaurd also said "you look a little mad, you should just go back from where you came from". Then the Monkey King screamed back at the gaurd. This shows that mad is the Monkey Kings personality.
I chose this picture because most people know what this is a picture of. This is a picture of the cover of the book.----->
