Amelia Earhart was born in July of 1897. As a child, Amelia was very adventurous, especially for a girl. She kept this adventurous spark as an adutlt too. In college, she heard about the crisis of the wounded soldiers from the war. She felt she could be of more use to them so she dropped out of college to be a nurse. When she was no longer needed there, she moved to Canada to tend to those suffering from a flu epidemic. While she was in Canada, she met a group of pilots who asked if she wanted to take a ride in an airplane. When she was in the air, she fell in love with flying. Not long after, she received her pilot's license, broke aspeed recor d, and flyed solo across the Atlantic.
