She flew up to 14,000 feet, breaking the women's alttitude recordShe was the first woman to fly alone across the Atlantic, and had set a new record of 13 hours and 30 minutes for the journey. She was also the first person to make the crossing twice.She was about to be first woman to fly around the equator, but she failed, but that was what made her the most famous woman pilot in history.

Lasting Impact

Earhart gave men and women '' The Guts'' to do something scary. As well as just letting them know, always follow your dreams.

Biography

In 1897 Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas.But, she thought she was born in 1896.The way she got interested in flying was when her dad Edwin, took her to her first air show when she was 11 years old.She got her first flying lesson when she was 21 yers old by famous pilot Neta Snook .She got the lesson right here in California!!!!!!!!!!In just 4 years she published 2 books. She was not just a pilot , she was an author too. :)

My name is Amelia Earhart and I was born in 1897 and I disappeared in 1937 near Howland Island.

Though Earhart was sucessful in her adult years her childhood was difficult. Let me tell you why. Her childhood was difficult because her mother had to stop her husband from drinking alchol in front of their children.Every time her husband kept drinking it tore thier family apart even more.

How did Amelia's career as a pilot begin? Her father gave her some money to get a couple of flying lessons and within a few weeks she learned the basics of flying.She got her pilot's license and then she became a pilot and it was legal for her to fly!
