Brief BiographySeptember 3, 1929: born Aliki Liacouras in Wildwood Crest, NJGreek-American. Raised in Philadelphia and has been drawing since she was in preschool.1951: Graduated from Philadelphia Museum College of Art 1956: Spent several months traveling, painting and sketching in Europe1957: Married Franz Brandenberg and settled in Switzerland1960: Wrote and illustrated her first book,, The Story of William Tell1961: Moved to New York City where she illustrated for other authors1977: Moved to London, England where she continues to write and illustrate children's books.She also makes dolls and has worked in silver, enamel, ceramics, papier-mâché, clay, and various forms of collage.
