Brief Info

Alexander the Great was born in Pella, Greece which, at the time was the captia of Macedon.His father was Philip ll of Macedon the king of Macedon at the time. As a ypung boy he was tutored by Aristotle, one of the most famous philosophers of all time. Aristotle tuaght Alexander all about,philosophy,poetry,drama, and science. When Alexandr's father died in 336 B.C, Aexander took over his lace as king and would soon have tremendous success.

Accomplishments

As king, Alexander's main priority was to save Greek culture.As a result all of the territory he took over they all, had a city named, Alexandria. Alexandria was a city that was inspired by Greek culture.Alexander managed to save Greek culture because of this.Another one of his main accmplishments was that he took over so much land. Having an excellent military mind certianly helped him. Alexander took over all of the Persian emire , Egypt, Greece Mesopotamia, Syria and, parts of Aisa including India and Punjab. When Alexander the Great took over Egypt, the Egptians named him Pharaoh. Also they viewed Alexander as a god and would do anything he asked of them. So basically,to the Egyptians Alexander the Great was a powerful being. His legacy was that he spreaded, Hellensim(Greek Culture) all over the world and that he perminately destroyed the Persian Empire and is known as one of the greatest leaders in history.
