Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was a great scientist and a great person. He was born in a small town in Germany on March 14, 1879. His parent’s name was Hermann and Pauline Einstein. His father owned a small company that supplied electrical equipment to people. As Albert grew, he seemed to have a problem of dumbness. Although his parents were worried, they did not give up hope...

Almost exactly 100 years ago, Albert Einstein made the equation E = mc2 in his “Special Theory of Relativity.” The equation suggested a new way of describing chemicals in energy and suggested another source of energy that at that point was unknown in history – nuclear energy. But 100 years later, Americans have not quite yet absorbed Einstein’s equation – a new form of energy that can provide almost unlimited amounts of power with a small impact on the environment.

On April 17, 1955, Albert Einstein experienced internal bleeding. He died in Princeton Hospital early the next morning at the age of 76, having continued to work until near the end.

"He was almost wholly without sophistication and wholly without worldliness ... There was always with him a wonderful purity at once childlike and profoundly stubborn."-Robert Oppenheimer

Einstein’s five accomplishments in the year 1905 include him creating the special theory of relativity in which he demonstrates that measurements of time and distance vary, proving Newton wrong that time and space are not absolute.

Einstein hated the academic high school because success depended on memorization and obedience to authority. He would rather spend his time at home studying mathematics, physics, and philosophy. One of Einstein’s teachers suggested that he leave school because his presence caused the other students to lose respect for the teacher.

Einstein wrote one paper about his new method that he invented of counting and determining the size of the atoms or molecules in a given space. In the second paper he wrote in 1905, he explains the phenomenon of Brownian motion that explains that atoms do exist.

Einstein created the quantum theory of light in 1905, the idea that we now call protons. He thought of it as tiny packets or molecules.
