Denali National Park

Denali National Park is located in south-central Alaska. It was established in 1917 as Mount McKinley National Park to honor President McKinley. However, the native Americans protested, and the Indian name, Denali, meaning "The Great One" , is now more frequently used. The park is a refuge for more than 30 kinds of animals and 80 species of birds, including the moose, caribou, Bald Eagle, and the Willow Ptarmigan - the state bird. Visitors may visit the park from June 1st to September 15th, however travel by car is very restrictive !
