Al Capone

Al Capone was born on January 17, 1899 in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in a "rough neighborhood". With his italian immigrant parents. He joined small "child gangs" at a very young age. Al was expelled from school in the sixth grade for getting in a physical fight with his teacher. Years later, Capone began working for a gang leader named Frankie Yale. After Al had severely injured a rival gang member he was sent to Chicago, by Yale, so things could cool down. Once Capone arrived he went to work for John Torrio, Yale's original mentor. Years later, Capone, now Torrio's "right hand man". Takes over the "Outfit" after Torrio is shot and hospitalized by a rival gang. Capone now controlled all of the "Outfit's" bootlegging business. Including speakeasies and other things of this nature. Capone now had no end to his funds, which presumably came in extremely handy. In 1927 a worker for the IRS happened to stumble upon a record of Capone's income. He had never paid tax on any of his income before hand. In 1931 Capone was charged with several things including; tax evasion and conspiracy to violate prohibition laws. Capone tried to bribe the judge, but the judge declined. After that plan failed, Capone changed his plea to "not guilty". He then bribed the jury, whom took the money willingly. However, just minutes before the trial the judge switched the jury with a whole new one. Capone was found not guilty on eighteen out of his twenty three counts. The judge sentenced Capone to a total of eleven years in jail. Capone, after serving some time in a county jail, was sent to Alcatraz. The strongest prison in the country at the time. On November 16, 1939 Capone was finally realeased. After he left prison he led a life of leisure and relaxation. On January 25, 1947, Al Capone died from cardiac arrest.
