Air Pollution

Although vehicles is invented to make transportation easier and more convenient for us, it releases Carbon monoxide.

When the factories produces electricity using fossil fuels, combustion is needed to create steam to turn the turbine. During the process, Carbon monoxide is formed and release into the air.

During incomplete combustion in the vehicles, there is not enough oxygen for the fuel to react conpletely to produce Carbon dioxide and water. Thus, it produces Carbon Monoxide gases.

Balanced equations for incomplete combustion :2 CH4 + 3 O2 -> 4 H2O + 2 CO

Generating of electricity for homes

Balanced equations for combustion :C + O = CO

When Carbon monoxide in released into the air, it causes air pollution.

It cannot transport oxygen to the vital organs, leading to vomiting, headache, nausea, fatigue and even death.

It reacts with haemoglobin in blood to form carboxyhemoglobin

When we breath in...

Which results in...

How do we prevent from producing too much carbon monoxide?

Reduce the use of transportation!Save electricity!

Take public transportations instead of driving your own car, this reduce the amount of carbon monoxide being releasedBy saving electricity, the household would not need to use as much electricity, thus, the factories would not need to burn fuels to produce steam.
