Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, staying president from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through the Civil War and from doing so he achived abolishing slavery, strengthening the national government and modernized the economy. He was raised in a poor family, but became self-educated. He belived that slavery was wrong and that it should be contained to the south. After he won the Civil War he planned to start a plan known as 10% plan, but it barley went in to place due to his assanation on April 5th by John Booth.
