Early Life:

Important History:Abraham Lincoln easily gained people's trust and he easily gained his way into office. His nickname was Honest Abe.

Important History:Before he entered into politics, Abraham Lincoln passed the BAR and became a lawyer.

1. In 1864, Lincoln passed the Kansas-Nebraska Act, which allowed each individual state to decided if they would allow slavery.2. Abraham Lincoln was a great commander in chief during the Civil War, if it weren't for him the United States would not have been perserved as one nation.3. He offered many speeches, his famous the Gettysburg Address, in which he adressed the fallen soldiers, still impacts the country today.4. He made sure to keep the Civil War only between our country and didn't allow other countries to take part.5.He signed for the fist transcontinental railroad.

Modern Day

Contributions to America:

The Emanicpation Proclamation: Freeing slaves. This was the stepping stone in completely abolishing slavery. 13th Amendment was passed to abolish slavery completely. If he hadn't taken these actions, we probably would still have slave owners in our country.

Lincoln was born in Kentucky. When his family moved to Indiana, his birth mother died and shortly after his father remarried.
