Sojurner Truth Sojurner Truth was the first black woman to speak out against slavery.She traveled widely through New England and the Midwest on speaking tours.In 1864,Truth visited President Abraham Lincoln in the White House.She even found jobs and helped slaves go to thier freedom.She died on Nov.26,1883.

The Underground Railroadthis "freedom helper"existedlong before it recieved its name.It helped many slaves in northern and southern states to canada [which is their only way to escape to freedom] .over 350 slaves escaped by using the Undergrond Railroad.

John brownThis person was an early spokes man against slavery and an important figure in a black american "back to Africa" monument.

The Bonds of SlaveryThere wads many issues that seperated the North and the South, but nothing inflamed the passions of both sides like the issue of Slavery. Slavery was an old insitution, as old as Human History.
