At the Olympic Games, Abby scored four goals and had one assist. She helped the U.S. win the gold medal in extra time over Brazil.

Abby Wambach was born in Rochester, New York on June 2, 1980. She is the youngest of seven and started soccer when she was four.She played college soccer for the University of Florida, where she was a member of a national university championship team and was recognized as a three-time All-American.

An professional soccer player, coach, two-time gold medalist, the 2012 FIFA World Player of the Year, and a five-time winner of the U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year award.She stands as the second highest all-time goal scorer for the USA Women's National Soccer Team, after Mia Hamm.
