"The Pearl" Soundtrack

Song Of The Family: 3 Is A Magic Number- Schoolhouse RockThe reason I choose this song for the Song of the Family is because there are 3 people in the family, Kino, Juana, and Coyotito. Also, the song is normally only heard by Kino when he thinks of the whole family togerther, which is a happy and joyful song to hear. In the song it says that, "It takes three to make a table stand," which in this case the table is a symbol for the family and it needs three members to keep it standing.

Song Of The Pearl:Greed- PennywiseThe reason I choose this song for the Song of the Pearl is because the only reason Kino did not take the pearl buyers' offers were because of greed. The song is almost like a rollercoaster filled with so many bumps you start to realize it, which is like the pearl because it only brought him a rollercoaster filled with bumps along the way. Since Kino can not get away from greed until the end, the song is a good fit for the song of the pearl.

Song Of Evil"Jaws" Theme Song The reason I choose this song is because Kino only hears the song of evil when evil is near. The "Jaws" theme song is only played in the movie when Jaws is only played in the movie when Jaws is near. The beat is a symbol of something coming closer, like the searcher coming after them in the mountains.

Song Of The Opening SceneHappiness- The FrayThe reason I choose this song is because when Kino starts the opening scene he feels happiness, because everything is going perfectly from the start when he wakes up. The song is also titled "Happiness" which is a symbol for Kino's good start of the day.

Song Of Social CommentaryImagine- John LennonThe reason I choose this song is because the social commentary is meant to show that people that are different should not act different to each other. "Imagine" is a song which shows that people should be together and people should not care what about anything else.

Song Of The Closing SceneHalleluja- Jeff BuckleyThe reason I choose this song is because when Kino and Juana were going through the town, they knew that this feeling would not leave easily. Even though they did not speak their voices were easily heard through the book's description, and "Hallelujah" best represents their voices.

Song From Kino To Juana: Choice #1 You Found Me- The FrayThe reason I choose this song is because Kino was very thankful that Juana saved him by making him throw the pearl away. But sadly, she made it there a little late, like the song says, because Coyotito got shot because she did not make him throw the pearl away soon enough.

Song From Kino's Experience With The PearlTurn The Car Around- OARThe reason I choose this song is because Kino tried to get away to make it better with the pearl still with him. But in the end it was all for the better if he left the pearl and started back to where he was before without the potential to become rich. This made it possible for him to keep going, but the pearl already left damage and shattered his perfect life with Coyotito and Juana. This is basically what the song is about so the song fits Kino's problems with the pearl.
