Frederick Douglass escaped from the city his master lived in. He traveled be steamboat and railroad and finally reached New York City.

On February 20, Frederick Douglass died of a huge heart attack. His corpes is currently buirried at Mount Hope cemetery in Rochester, New York

Even though this was illegal at the time, some African American slaves were actually educated, or at least taught the basics of how to read and write. One of these educated slaves was a man by the name of Frederick Douglass

History

Douglass, now with a family of his own, has joint "Bristol's Anti - Slavery Society and with the group, has made may famous speeches and publishes many books such as, " Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave".

Fredrick was, for months, planning out an escape from his master to the north, but he was caught and placed into prison for two years.

In the February of 1818, Frederick Douglass was born. He was the child of a white father and a black mother.
