In Teach Like Your Hair's On Fire, Rafe Esquith describes how he uses Kohlberg's Six Levels of Moral Development as a model for behavior in his classroom. He uses examples from literature and films to help students understand what the behavior for each of the levels looks like. For instance, he cites Will Kane, the character played by Gary Cooper in the movie High Noon as an example of Level 6 behavior. We'd like to share the 6 levels with our students, too, but we're looking for examples from childrens' literature they're more familiar with to help them grasp the levels. Any ideas? We've created a wiki page for each of the 6 levels. If you have examples to share, please feel free to edit the page representing the level your example best demonstrates.
