How is the curriculum preparing students for the unknown future?

I believe that we are getting closer to preparing students for the future as we move to the Common Core standards; however, I think that we have a ways to go. The hardest part of preparing students for the future is the fact that the future is unknown. Many of the occupations that our students will have don't exist yet. The technology that they will be using, hasn't been developed yet. We have to prepare students to be self-learners. We have to prepare students to be prepared for anything and to think for themselves and solve problems. That requires we not only adapt the curriculum to begin to prepare students for this unknown future, but we also must adapt teaching methods and styles to accomplish this, as well.

Our Goal: Prepare Students for a future that is unknown
