609-The danger of a Single Story

A Single Story Creates:*Stereotypes*Robs People of Dignity*Makes Equality Difficult*Emphasizes Differences Rather than Similarities

The danger of knowing only a single story about someone tells an incomplete story.

If students only know one story about each another it would be difficult to create acceptance of one another & inclusion within the whole classroom.

Inclusion creates *respect *acceptance*connections

It is important for students not to feel pity for one another, but to learn from each others backgrounds & talents.

Students should see more than one side of one another. Each student should feel empowered in their classroom. We should all build each other up!
