Medical beliefs of the 20th century 1).scientific rasism- the belief that all races were composed diffrently. The last traces of this belief ended in the begining of the 20th century2).experimental bias- durnig the begining of this century blind studies became popular helping to end the bias of some scientest which based their experents and studies on their own ideas and beliefs.3).Female hysteria- this was the belief that women that went to work and did anything that was "abnormal" for women in the early 1900s they were branded with the "disease". 4).during the 20th century people became less religious and they begain seeking medical solutions for spiritual and psycolagical problems.

Health care worker1.Antonio Egas Moniz, worked on mental patients by cutting the connections to and from the prefrontal cortex, the anterior part of the frontal lobes of the brain, this treatment is called lobotomy.2.The first effective polio vaccine was developed by Jonas Salk and Albert Sabin. The first vacconation of children against polio began in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1954. Through mass immunization, the disease was wiped out in the Americas.

Health care trends1. in 1928, Scottish physician Alexander Flemming (1881-1955) inadvertently discovered Penicillin while studying moulds.2.In 1998, most leading causes of death is heart disease, cancer followed by strokes, influenza, diabetes, and kidney disease.3.Water Fluoridation began in 1948. Fluoridation is the act of adding fluoride ions to water in order to reduce tooth decay in the general population.

Terry, M.D. (1911-1985), Surgeon General of the U.S. Public Health Service, released the report of the Surgeon General's Advisory Committee on Smoking and Health. That landmark document, now referred to as the first Surgeon General's Report on Smoking and Health, was America's first widely publicized official recognition that cigarette smoking is a cause of cancer and other serious diseases.
