Al Capone was one of the most famous and powerful gangsters in the U.S. During the 1920s Capone built a criminal empire that became the model for present day orginized crime operations.

Crossword puzzles, dance marathons, and flag pole sitting where all fads. Most Fads where done with almost as soon at they where taken up. They where all embraced though with enthusiasm. All of this was part of the tweinties madness.

The lost generation is a term use to describe amaerican writers during the 1920s. These writers helped create a lot of the thematic and stylistic foundations of modern literature.

Nothing caught the spirt of the 20s like jazz did. Jazz was essentially a black creation and it spread across the country in many different forms.

Speakeasies where underground bars. By the middle of the decade there were thought to be 100,100 speakeasies in New York City alone.

A flapper is giddy, attractive, and a slightly unconventional lady. They are foolish and wild girls inclined to revolt against the precepts and admonitions of her elders. They dance a lot. They wear their boots unfastened creating a flap and wear rolled down hose.

In !922 ,Albert Fall, the Secretary of the Interior, leased the Teapot Dome oil fields to two friends. In return he recived no intrest loans and $400,000 in gifts. He leased public land and oil reserves to his friends for a bribe.

Babe Ruth was a famous baseball player in the 1920s. He was playing for the New York Yankees and on September 30, 1927, Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run.

There where lots of new inventions in the 1920s. Some included the bandaid, stoplight, hairdryer, and the automobile.
