. Fashion is greatly influenced and shaped by society and current events.. The 1920's is most famous for the huge shift in fashion from the previous era's.. Society was rapidly changing after World War 1 with new inventions, faster transportation, and new customs. The fashion reflected the fast changes in society.. Women traded the confining Victorian fashion and customs for movable clothes so they could go dancing, walk around town, hop into cars, and go to work in. . This is also the decade that brought us many famous fashion designers that still inspire us today!

. After WW1, many soldiers returned home to find the clothes in their closets to be outdated and too conservative. . Men's fashion did not change as greatly as women's did at the start of the 20's but it did rapidly change as the decade progressed.. Men wanted a more masculine and individualistic look.. Suits shoulders filled out, giving men a more masculine appearance, trousers were better fitted and a little baggier allowing men's legs to breathe.

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."
