A generic rectangle is a two by two or two by three or more of a rectangle.for an example multiply 23.35 since we are multiplying a two digit number by two digit number you will need a generic rectangles.A generic rectangels is a rectangle that is splited up in groups with numbers on the out side.A gerneric rectangle is actully just breaking it into a tinyer parts or like multiplying in smaller groops.We used it to help us visualize multiplcation and as a way to multiply numbers by useing a diagram.
