12.3 Protecting Biodiversity in NC

Canis Lupus Rufus also known as "Red Wolf" are endangered species. They are found in North Carolina, in the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge region. Reasons why these species are endangered is due to human development, negative attitudes that hinder restoration, severe weather, deaths by motor vehicles, and illegal killings. Federal Law helps protect these innocent species. 90-100 "Red Wolves" now live in and around a federal wildlife refuge in North Carolina.
