10 Types of Weather
Hurricane: Warm air moving over the ocean rises rapidly, condenses, and releases energy over warm, tropical water.
Waterspout: Cumulus clouds meet high altitude horizontal winds above water so the rising warm air rotates and the spinning cloud that may or may not reach the surface of the water.
Cyclone: Cold polar air meets warm tropical air in midlaltitudes where low pressure areas have air moving toward the rising air of the low pressure region.
Tornado: Super cell thunderstorms meet high altitude horiontal winds so the rising warm air rotates and the spinning cloud that may or may not reach the ground.
Windstorm: Cumulonimbus clouds high above the Earth grow into storms, yet these specific storms have very high wind levels and little precipitation
Fog: Infrared cooling of a cloud-free, humid air mass at night or rains cooling and moistening the air near the surface of the Earth forms fog.
Snow: Cold air near the ground forms snowflakes. The heavy snowflackes in clouds fall back to the Earth.
Sleet: Cold air near the ground forms many small ice pellets. The heavy ice in clouds falls to the Earch in the form of sleet.
Hail: Cold air near the ground forms ice pellets from the ice nuclei going up and down in clouds. The heavy ice in clouds fall to the Earth in the form of hail.
Rain: Warm air near the ground forms water vapor. The heavy water vapor in clouds forms into rain droplets which fall to back to Earth.
