ChallengesIn 1901, Roosevelt (at 42) became the youngest president to assume office after President McKinley was assassinated. Later on, Roosevelt was shot in Milwaukee while on campain, and proceeded to give a speech.

Early LifeIn his youth, Theodore Roosevelt was mostly homeschooled due to his poor health. He had severe asthma but didn't let that stop him. He had an intense physical routine of weightlifting and boxing.

AccomplishmentsIn 1906, Roosevelt was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating the end of the Russo-Jananese war. Also in 1906, he signed the National Monument Act, which formed national parks and monuments like the Grand Canyon. The presidential mansion first became known as the "White House" when he added the name to his stationary.
