A rock may be heated or compressed which eventually transforms into a different rock. Depending on how the rock reacts to heat and pressure, it would change into an even softer or harder material; metamorphic rock.

As, the magma cools down after erupting from underneath the mantle, the molten materials then hardens forming Igneous rock.

When bodies of water like rivers, lakes, and oceans or ice glaciers and wind transport sediment. It is deposited into layers and solidify which, frequently contains fossils.. Then after several years of continuous heat/pressure it may form sedimentary rock, it texture is usually soft also easy to carve.

Since the center of the earth is hot, the heat allows rocks to be kept in its liquid form; magma. In order for rock to be kept in its liquid form, the core compresses heat together in one space. So, eventually magma releases causing volcanic eruptions.
