Emmett Betts wrote, Foundations of Reading InstructionBetts incorporated a component of Guided Reading into his steps for teaching reading(p.226)

Bond and Wagner developed a reading lesson plan. One of the steps included the teacher guiding readers while they read silently (p.227)
Margaret Mooney wrote, Reading to, With, and By Students. The "with" portion was referring to guided reading(p. 228)
Irene Fountas and Gay Su Pinnell wrote the book, "Guided Reading; Good First Teaching for All Students. Their book discussed how guided reading could be used in a small group setting to meet students' needs (p.228)
