PurposeThe puprpose of this movement is to revalidate Black lives and to continue to the liberate Black and African American people.

Black Lives Matter Movement has constantly fallen under scrutiny and seen as an attack on police officers and the judiciary system which is incorrect. The media portrays this in order to have people against this movement, which reminds me of a quote by Arthur Schopenhauer that even the truths that Lucretius and Galileo had discovered also had to go through. The quote says: All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. Black Lives Matter is in the second stage.

Swerve?Black Lives Matter is a swerve that occurred and is still currently occurring in the 21st century. This is a swerve, because it is a shift in the ideology that minority groups in the United States have not mattered too much. It also important to note that it increased twitter activism amongst the people of color.

Current RelevanceIn the current presidential debates, candidates have been asked to state their stance on the issue. Not only has this been a segway to acquire more black votes, but also it aids in acknowledging the fact that there is inequality and injustice occuring and minority groups - especially Black folks. This relevant because not only has the Black Lives Matter Movement sparked conversation amongst people, but also within the government.

Swerve? contd. The success of the movement will be a swerve in itself. It is a paradigm of moral accountability on a higher scale. The country has been policing on racial bias and stereotypes and the movement, brings to light these observations. There is history to back it up. This relates to Lucretius because his not all his observations were formed through exclusively by what he saw, but also by what he felt or "thought were right." The world was able to have a swerve by being able to prove his biases and certain observations wrong.
