Geography in movies sets the mood. Like in Gone With The Wind's opening credits, all that is shown is beautiful views of Tara.
The views of Taraat the beginning of the movie shows the audience how beautiful Tara is now vs how it will look later in the movie.
Geography is essential to the story, sometimes the story can be based completely around the setting, like The Great Gatsby. It's all about the giant houses.
In Some Like It Hot, a lot of emphasis is placed on the Chicago part of the movie. Its cold and windy and miserable. Then a lot is Emphasised on the warm and pleasant Florida setting.
Next time you View a moviethink aboutthe geography or setting of that movie. What does it do to the story? What is the purpose of the setting or geography?
