Peru

Location

Peru's absolute location is 12 degrees south and 77 degrees west. It's relative location is south of Ecuador and Colombia, west of Brazil and Bolivia, and north of Chile.

Nowadays, some means of transportation in Peru are taxi, car, train, and bus. The greatest exports from Peru are gold and copper ore. In 2013, Peru exported 43.8 billion dollars, making it the 59th largest exporter in the world.

Peru has a hot climate, widespread vegetation, and borders the countries Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, and Bolivia. Its president is Ollanta Humala. It is also a political region due to the fact that it has its own borders and government.

The Inca survived in Peru by living on the mountains to defend themselves from the Conquistadors. They also began farming and hunting. They had to adapt by asserting their dominance in the area until they got taken down by the Spaniards. Humans built fortresses there like Machu Picchu and now we have developed cities and modern technologies.

Place

Machu Picchu in Incan means 'Old Peak'. It was given that name for being a large and grand mountain. It was built on the mountains overlooking the Sacred Valley and the Urubamba river in the 15th century.
