Michael Angelo Buonarroti

(6 March 1475 – 18 February 1564), commonly known as Michelangelo was an Italian Renaissance sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer who had great influence on the development of Western art. Michelangelo was considered the greatest living artist in his lifetime.

The Creation of Adam(1511–1512)One of the most famous sections of michael's frescos Sistine Chapel. It is thought to illustrate the Biblical creation narrative from the Book of Genesis in which God breathes life into Adam, the first man, and has become one of the most iconic painting of hummanity.

Pieta(1498-1499)This sculpture of Marry holding her son Jesus after the crucifiction is held in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. Michelangelo's interpretation of the Pietà is unique to the precedents. It is an important work as it balances the Renaissance ideals of classical beauty with naturalism.

David(1501-1504)This marble statue of a nude man is a creaion of Rennaissance Sculpture.The statue represents the Biblical hero David, a favored subject in the art of Florence, and soon became a symbol of defense of civil liberties.

The Last Judgment(1536-1541)executed on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, this canonical fresco is one of the most famous artworks of Michael angelo. It depicts the second coming of Christ and the final and eternal judgment by God of all humanity.
