Mr. Prelutsky has written over 70 books of poetry. He is known for rhyming prose that includes humor and puns.

Jack Prelutsky was born in 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. He went to school in the Bronx. He says that he did not enjoy poetry as a child, but grew to love it later in life.

Before Mr. Prelutsky was a poet, he was a folksinger! He considered becoming a professional singer.

Currently, Jack Prelutsky is a very active song writer and performer.
