How does society influence one's idea of love?

Glog by: Alexis Ramirez

Fantasy vs. Reality

Is society trying to define love?

"Araby"by James Joyce- A young boy is infatuated with his neighbor's sister.- When he finally speaks to her, he finds out that she can't go to Araby because of a retreat in her convent.- He promises to bring something back for her.- He waits for his uncle to return home so he can get money, but he arrives really late.- When he finally gets to the bazaar, almost all the stalls were closed. He doesn't buy anything and ends up crying in frustration.

Is it real love?

"Love is an undefined word until that special someone comes along to give it a special meaning" - Anonymous

"Gazing up into the darkness I saw myself as a creature driven and derided by vanity; and my eyes burned with anguish and anger."

“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr. Seuss

'And why can't you?' I asked.'It's well for you,' she said.

"I had never spoken to her, except for a few casual words, and yet her name was like a summons to all my foolish blood."

DID YOU KNOW?MOST MOVIES END JUST WHEN THE RELATIONSHIP BEGINS.

Society has the impression that young love is easy and fun but in reality, for this boy, it was really disheartening from the let down of not being able to the girl he likes a gift.

Media emphasizes the concept of love to society by making movies, singing songs, and writing books about it which affects some people’s hopes for romance, even trying to copy what they see on screen based on a desire for happiness and fulfillment.
